Lake County proposes to carry out the 2018 Consolidated Plan with its FY 2021 CDBG and HOME funds. In essence it will be undertaking the same activities it did in FY 2020. These will include Homeless Prevention, Fair Housing, Public Facilities and Infrastructure Improvements and ADA Improvements in various participating cities and towns, Homebuyer Assistance, Program Administration, Elderly/Handicapped Transportation, Owner Housing Rehabilitation, Mental Health America, Indiana Plan, St. Jude House, Habitat for Humanity, In-Pact, Inc., rehabilitation of housing for special needs households and possibly Demolitions. It will also continue to carry out the CDBG CARES Act Funding and the new HOME ARP funding.
Assistance is available to tenants whose income has been impacted by COVID-19 for rent, utilities, and home energy expenses.
